There’s always a lot of buzz around any new product from Apple. The iPhone 4S is the latest gadget we’ve been waiting for here in South Africa and it looks like the waiting will be over soon. Vodacom and MTN will both offer the iPhone 4S from 16 December 2011, with Vodacom currently giving you the option of pre-registering for the new smartphone.
While many Apple fans thought the new release would actually be the iPhone 5, it’s not. The iPhone 4S does however carry some cool new features like a powerful dual-core A5 chip, a superb 3.5″ Retina display with 960 x 640 resolution, HD (1080p) video recording and an 8 mega-pixel camera.
The big new feature is something called Siri – an intelligent voice assistant. Siri makes use of voice recognition for a host of different functions including sending messages, making phone calls, scheduling meetings and setting reminders. I’ve been waiting for something like this in a phone, so it’ll be interesting to see how it works.
Are you going to get the new iPhone 4S? If you do get your hands on one, feel free to post a comment and share your thoughts on the new device.
