Want to work for Amazon? A new customer service centre is on the way in Cape Town

I heard today that the world’s largest online retailer, Amazon, is set to open a new customer service centre right here in the Mother City. It’s great to see this kind of investment and job creation opportunity happening in South Africa.

Here are some of the details:

• The new Amazon customer service centre is scheduled to open in Cape Town in October 2010.
• 600 new jobs will be created in the first two years, with another 400 seasonal jobs during the fourth quarter holiday season.
• The customer service centre will provide services in English and German.
• Keep a look out on www.amazon.com/careers for job opportunities at the new centre.

Well done to Amazon for going forward with this project in the Western Cape.
