The 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand is less than a year away. After a disappointing 2010 Vodacom Tri-Nations, the South African Rugby Union (SARU) has launched a new campaign called ‘Unite 2011’, to gather support together for the national team.
Next year’s Rugby World Cup kicks off on 9 September 2011, when hosts New Zealand face Tonga in Auckland. South Africa’s first game of the tournament is a tough one, against Wales on 11 September 2011. With that said, it’s one step at a time for the Springboks. The next challenge on the horizon is an end of year tour to Europe. You can check out the fixtures for the Springboks 2011 Vodacom Outgoing Tour here. Let’s hope the team can put a string of good results together and maybe this is the ideal opportunity to bring in some new talent. There are a number of players who have been knocking on the door for the whole season and they deserve a chance or two.
Supporters can visit www.unite2011.co.za to register their details for the Unite 2011 campaign. By registering, you’ll also stand a chance to win great prizes. Just keep checking in on the website from time to time and I’m sure there’ll be updates as well.
Times are tough for the Springboks right now but aren’t you looking forward to the great vibe that everyone feels during a world cup? It’s always good to get behind the national team, so why should next year be any different? Go on – show your support!

I will be supporting the Boks every step of the way. Can’t wait for the Rugby World Cup next year!
Go Bokke! Show dem show dem!
