I recently bought the new CD/DVD combo from The KILLERS, called ‘Live From The Royal Albert Hall’. It is probably the best DVD concert I have seen, even better than Muse’s ‘HAARP – Live from Wembley’, which is also incredible. Having just seen them live in Cape Town, it’s great to now have the DVD featuring performances of all their songs. It’s amazing how many classic songs this band already has.
The DVD was recorded live from the Royal Albert Hall in London on 5 and 6 July 2009. It was filmed in HD and full 5.1 sound. From the epic guitar peaks on ‘Read My Mind’ and ‘When You Were Young’, to the driving bass intro on ‘Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine’ and awesome guest sax player on ‘Joy Ride’, this DVD has really impressed me. It’s the first officIal DVD release from The KILLERS and it was worth waiting for.
Here’s the full set-list of songs on the DVD:
- Human
- This Is Your Life
- Somebody Told Me
- For Reasons Unknown
- The World We Live In
- Joy Ride
- I Can’t Stay
- Bling (Confession Of A King)
- Shadowplay
- Smile Like You Mean It
- Losing Touch
- Spaceman
- A Dustland Fairytale
- Sam’s Town (Acoustic)
- Read My Mind
- Mr. Brightside
- All These Things That I’ve Done
- Sweet Talk
- This River Is Wild
- Bones
- Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine
- When You Were Young
It also features five bonus festival performances:
- Tranquilize – Oxegen Festival
- Human – Hyde Park
- Mr. Brightside – Hyde Park
- Smile Like You Mean It – V Festival
- When You Were Young – V Festival
The bonus live CD features 17 of the songs.
There you have it. If you went to see them on their recent South African tour, you can now enjoy the band live in the comfort of your own home. And if you didn’t see them, here’s your chance to see what you missed out on.

I love anything at the Royal Albert Hall! If you’re a Rod Stewart fan, his show at the Royal Albert is also a classic, Ronnie Wood plays with him… great DVD
Hey Sean,
Sounds good thanks. I must make a plan to check that one out!
Cheers,
Adrian
