Switchfoot will be rocking the GrandWest Arena on 11 August 2012

American rock band Switchfoot will be touring South Africa in August 2012. The band will be performing in Cape Town at the GrandWest Arena on Saturday 11 August 2012, while JHB fans can see them live at Carnival City on Wednesday 8 August 2012.

Switchfoot was formed back in 1994 when brothers Jon Foreman (vocals, guitar) and Tim Foreman (bass guitar, backing vocals) teamed up with friends Chad Butler (drums, percussion), Jerome Fontamillas (guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), and Drew Shirley (guitar, backing vocals). The San Diego based band has since released nine studio albums and they’ve toured extensively worldwide. Along the way they’ve also picked up a Grammy Award and they’ve sold over 4.4 million albums.

The band’s new album ‘Vice Verses’ is doing particularly well, with songs sitting high up on the Billboard charts and a couple being included in movie trailers and soundtracks. If you are going to the concert, be sure to look out for one of their older songs ‘Meant To Live’ – it still rocks big-time!

I hear the guys in the band enjoy surfing, so I’m sure they’ll catch a wave or two during their stay in the Mother City.

Tickets for the Switchfoot concerts are available from Computicket and prices range from R220 to R350 each. It should be an awesome show. Enjoy!
