This one is for all the dog owners out there. The SPCA 567 Cape Talk Wiggle Waggle Walk-a-thon takes place on Sunday 22 November 2009. It’s a 4.5km fun walk for dogs and their owners and is becoming more and more popular every year. Last year over 2000 people and their best friends participated in the walk.
The walk starts at 09h00 at the Academy of Maths, Science and Technology, which is on the corner of Spaanschemat River Road and Firgrove Way in Tokai. The route will be closed to traffic for the duration of the walk-a-thon, giving participants full access to the roads. Water will be available at regular refreshment points along the route.
There will be plenty of food and refreshments on offer before and after the event. Pet product stalls will also be setup, with lots on offer for your four-legged friends. A jumping castle will be available for the kids and there will be dog agility displays and prize give-aways, all adding to the fun and atmosphere at the event. And don’t forget, DJ’s from 567 Cape Talk will be there encouraging walkers and providing added entertainment.
It’s a great event in support of the SPCA. In addition, the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet fundraising programme will give R10 to the SPCA for every dog participating in the walk-a-thon.
