With a new coach and some changes in captaincy for the Proteas, fans are keen to see what lies ahead during the upcoming cricket season. Former India coach and legendary South African batsman Gary Kirsten is the new head coach for the team. His assistant coaches are South African fast-bowling legend Allan Donald, as well as Russell Domingo, a successful former coach of the Warriors. Graeme Smith is still captain for the South African test side, while AB de Villiers will captain the One Day International and T20 teams.
The Proteas 2011/2012 season kicks off with a home series against Australia in October 2011 where we can look forward to two T20 internationals, three One Day Internationals and two test matches. Next up is the home series against Sri Lanka which starts in December 2011 and runs through the festive season. After that, South Africa will head off to New Zealand for a series starting in February 2012.
