SA’s Got Talent is a reality show which I really enjoyed watching last year. I’m pleased to see that a second season of the talent competition is on the way soon. SA’s Got Talent Season 2 is premiering on SABC2 on Thursday 16 September 2010. The show will once again feature some of South Africa’s best talent, as well as some of South Africa’s more ‘interesting’ talent.
The contestants will be competing for a grand prize of R250,000. The first season was won by hip-hop dancer, Darren Rajbal. His brilliant dance skills made him a crowd favourite and took him to first place in a field of 4,000 contestants.
One of the standout features of the first season of SA’s Got Talent, was the great chemistry between the hosts of the show, Rob Van Vuuren and Anele Mdoda and also the judges, Shado Twala, Randall Abrahams and Ian Von Memerty. I’m pleased to hear the same team is back for the second season.
Auditions for SA’s Got Talent Season 2 have started and are taking place at the following locations:
- Johannesburg – The Focus Rooms, Sunninghill: 23, 24 & 25 July 2010
- Port Elizabeth – E.T.C. Conference Centre: 29 July 2010
- Cape Town – Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC): 31 July 2010 & 1 August 2010
The show is based on the highly successful British and American versions of ‘Got Talent’, which are created and executively produced by Simon Cowell.
Good luck to everyone who’s entering the competition. I’m really looking forward to the second season of SA’s Got Talent. It’s sure to be a hit TV show in South Africa again.

I would like it if the people in the Free State could also get a fair chance to enter without having to go far. We also work and can’t take leave. Bloemfontein is also a big city, can’t there also be auditions? Thanx
Well, look out for the group V.H.B (Verses, Hooks & Beats), who killed the audition last week Sunday at Joburg. The group does hip hop soul and are bringing a new and fresh sound to music with a clear msg on the lyrics, and no vulgar content. Just real fresh music. Also have done a track for teachers, this track just shows appreciation to teachers out there. Look out.
Hey everyone, look out for some new and improved choreography and an exciting style of hip hop on the second season that’s gonna blow your minds!!! this would be my second year on SA got talent and i pray that that i got use by my side, because as a team we can make the world a better place, it starts with a dream and made into a world wide change… thank you and God bless. Lil Dee.
Since SA’s Got Talent started, we haven’t seen any children or adults from disadvantaged families or orphans. The show is about seeing what SA’s people have. Eg. Mpumalanga is always the last province to bear in mind. I wish to see auditions in Mpumuplanga this season. God bless. Aya Mabena
I can’t wait for season 2 of SA’s Got Talent because my Thursday evenings won’t be the same. I followed every episode of SA’s Got Talent last season and enjoyed every sec of it. Hopefully season 2 will more exciting than ever.
The first episode of SA’s Got Talent Season 2 was great – I can’t wait to see what’s ahead in the weeks ahead!
Hey, we were there and it was great but we had to go to Joburg coz we are from Bloemfontein. When will there be auditions at Bloem?
Hi Portia, glad you enjoyed the auditions. Maybe next year they’ll have auditions in Bloemfontein? Will have to wait and see
I cannot wait for Thursday evening. This is the only show that gives everyone a fair chance whatever their talent might be. I cried from the beginning to end on Thursday 7th, very emotional all these talented people from little kids to old pensioners and everyone gets a chance. Good work – can we not make the show 2 hours – I certainly will be glued to my TV.
Hi Linda, glad you’re enjoying the show. I missed a week or two but caught the last episode, it was good!
One thing’s for sure, I’ll watch SA’s Got Talent over Idols any day!
OMG James Bhemgee, he is sensational. I cant tell you how my family and I cried when he sang. Apart from Michael Jackson he gave me goose bumps… we praying for you James not only for SA’s Got Talent but for your future.
I hear you Natasha – James is brilliant! He’s got my vote for sure.
There’s nobody that can beat James – he is the best and my vote definitely goes for him.
Hey guys… lets just hope that there will be auditions in Bloem the next season, so that the Bloem talent that SA got can be seen.
A big congratulations to James Bhemgee for winning the second season of SA’s Got Talent! He’s an amazing singer and I really hope to see him performing in Cape Town soon, as well as the rest of SA and the world!
Well done to all of the finalists – it was a great show last night and all of the finalists deserve a big well done
And finally, to everyone involved at SA’s Got Talent – keep up the good work and well done for producing such a great show. I think SA’s Got Talent might just be the best reality show SA’s ever produced. What do you think? Cheers, Adrian

An absolutely fantastic show! And yes, it’s definitely better than Idols, which has just become controversial and boring. SA’s Got Talent is great! The judges and hosts, Rob and Anele make the show as well
