You can look forward to fun-filled activities for the kids and a variety of foods creatively prepared by The Eatery – from oysters and sushi, to foot-long boerewors rolls, cheese boards, picnics and a candy station for those with a sweet tooth. Durbanville Hills’ recently released Sauvignon Blancs and releases from other wineries in the Durbanville valley will be available to taste, as you relax on the lawn in the shade of the olive trees. The Cape Wine Academy will be hosting a variety of free tutored tasting classes throughout the weekend as well.

At the end of the festivities on the Saturday, Durbanville Hills will screen the big rugby game between South Africa and New Zealand in the maturation cellar. You’ll be able to enjoy wine directly from the barrel while watching the game from 17h00.

To ensure visitors arrive home safely, Scooter Angels will be at the cellar to escort those home who wish to make use of their services.

The festival will take place on Saturday 6 October 2012 from 10h00 to 18h00 and on Sunday 7 October 2012 from 10h00 to 17h00. Picnics need to be pre-booked by contacting Hanlie Campher at hcampher@durbanvillehills.co.za or 021 558 1300.

Entry is free and you can bring your own blankets and chairs. There will be live music on both the Saturday and Sunday. The Eatery will be open for breakfast and lunch on both days, serving an à la carte summer menu with special Season of Sauvignon treats.
