Bovim Ballet is bringing Sean Bovim’s Queen at the Ballet back to Cape Town in August. This follows a sold-out season which took place at the Oude Libertas Amiptheatre earlier this year. Now, fans can look forward to seeing the hit show at the Baxter Theatre in Rondebosch from 8 to 18 August 2012.

Queen at the Ballet tells the story of the legendary Queen frontman Freddie Mercury through the medium of dance. The show features Michael Hankinson’s exquisite recorded orchestral arrangements of Queen’s music, together with the live gymnastic vocals of CITO (WONDERboom & Jesus Christ Superstar fame), Daniel Fisher (Fiddler on the Roof) and Goitsemang Lehobye. Expect to hear classic songs like ‘Who Wants To Live Forever’, ‘Another One Bites The Dust’ and ‘Barcelona’, to name but a few.

Dancers taking part in the production include Henk Opperman as Freddie Mercury, along with Tanya Futter, Faye Dubinski, Devon Marshbank, Nicola Van der Merwe, James Bradley, Iggy Van Heerden, Zandile Constable, Darren Greeff, Jennifer Middleton, Steven Van Wyk, Llewellyn Mnguni, Sven Muller, Megan Black, Javan Mattei, Elzanne Crause, Che Milani, Ipeleng Morafe, Grant Van Ster and Justin Mancer.

Tickets are on sale at Computicket and prices range from R150 to R180 each. Shows run from Wednesdays to Saturdays at 20h00 and on the Sunday at 14h00.
