The Parlotones return to Kirstenbosch for another concert on 8 April 2012

Posted on February 18th, 2012

The Parlotones will be back at Kirstenbosch on Sunday 8 April 2012 for a special Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon concert. The Easter Sunday show will also be a fundraiser for the upcoming Kirstenbosch Centenary in 2013.

The Easter Weekend sees the running of the annual Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon which is fondly known as ‘the world’s most beautiful marathon’. The race sees thousands of runners making their way through the Cape Peninsula in either the full 42.2km marathon or the 21.1 half marathon. There are also a number of fun runs as well. It’s a good thing the concert is at Kirstenbosch, as you’ll get a chance to rest those tired legs by chilling out on the grass while taking in the music. That’s if you’ve got the energy for a concert after the big race!

Expect to hear some new Parlotones tracks from the upcoming album ‘Journey through the Shadows’, which is due for release in May 2012. You can also look forward to some of your favourites from previous albums of course.

Tickets for the show are available online at WebTickets or from the Kirstenbosch Ticket Office (021 799 8783). The prices are:

  • R125 for adults
  • R95 for youths aged 6 to 21 years old, with an ID
  • R105 for Botanical Society members

The Parlotones will be supported by The Ice Project, a new soft rock/post grunge band based in Pretoria. The concert starts at 17h00 and finishes at 19h00. Gates open at 15h30. Enjoy!
