Newlands cricket fixtures for 2009/2010 season – South Africa and Nashua Cape Cobras

With summer on the way we can look forward to enjoying the upcoming cricket season at Sahara Park Newlands. The 2009/2010 season includes the England tour of South Africa, the MTN Cup, SuperSport Series and Standard Bank Pro20 Series.

Let’s hope South Africa can strengthen their position at the top of the world rankings by beating England in the end of year Castle Lager Test Series and MTN ODI Series. The touring ‘Barmy Army’ are always entertaining when England visit our shores. They’ll be in a jubilant mood coming off a recent Ashes test series win against the Aussies. Join them for a beer or two at Castle Corner.

I’m sure the domestic season will be very exciting as well. The SuperSport Series and MTN Cup will be competitive and the Standard Bank Pro20 Series will be as popular as ever. The 20 over format of the game is growing from strength to strength and the Standard Bank Pro20 Series has been a huge success over the past couple of years. Good luck to the Nashua Cape Cobras and let’s see if they can bring the silverware home.
