It looks like English Premier League super-club Manchester United will be playing against our top local side Ajax Cape Town on Saturday 21 July 2012. The game is part of Manchester United’s pre-season training which also sees them facing AmaZulu in Durban on 19 July 2012, before they head off to China for a series of friendly games.
Manchester United is the most popular football club in the world with massive support around the globe. Of course, there’s no shortage of support for Alex Ferguson’s side here in Cape Town as you may well know! Let’s hope the big name players like Wayne Rooney, Nani, Ryan Giggs, Patrice Evra, David De Gea and Nemanja Vidic will take to the field when they do battle with the Urban Warriors. I see Paul Scholes has signed for another year with the club, so he may very well get a run as well on the day.
It’ll also be a fantastic opportunity for the Ajax Cape Town players, as they get a chance to play against one of Europe’s best teams in the world-class Cape Town Stadium. I bet they can’t wait.
Don’t hesitate in getting your tickets, as they are going to fly when they go on sale (I’ll post details on tickets as soon as more info is available and when there’s definite confirmation of the game going ahead). Enjoy!

So excitad seeing united in action again soon in cape town,the last time I saw united in cape town was with the vodacom cup againts kaizer chiefs(south africas manchester united)so I mus say having them here againts our mother city will be great but just to clear my mind anyone knows what the price range would.Please respond to this email.

The hype of united coming to the mother city got me jumping out of my seat over and over again. As soon as i heard about this massive event i hit the internet button faster than one could say Glory Glory Man United is coming to Cape Town. and what a wonderful feeling it would be to see the boys of Cape town performing to impress on the day. I am a very very very Big united supporter (25-years) but also wouldn’t right the urban warriors off.

Hi everyone according to the Ajax Cape Town site, tickets will be on sale at Computicket soon. The game will kick-off at 15h00.

Thanks Wilhelm, that is the news I’ve heard as well. So 09h00 on Monday 25 June 2012 is the big day for getting tickets!
