Good Hope FM Beach Soccer Tournament – Camps Bay Beach: 16 December 2009 – 20 December 2009

I’m a keen five-a-side soccer player and I’m always pleased to see social soccer events happening in Cape Town. From Wednesday 16 December to Sunday 20 December, Good Hope FM is organising a beach soccer tournament, which is open to teams from the bar and restaurant industry, the media, ad agencies and model agencies, to name but a few.

It’s all happening on Camps Bay beach and the event also includes the Miss Bikini Body Pageant. Fantastic prizes will be up for grabs for both the winning soccer team and of course, Miss Bikini Body. OLA Ice Cream and Nando’s will be providing snacks throughout the day and there’ll be soccer gear available from UMBRO during the tournament. Karma Beach Lounge Bar in the Camps Bay Promenade will be hosting parties after the action ends on the beach.

Sunday 20 December 2009 also sees the launch of Footvolley South Africa. Footvolley is an international sport which combines field rules taken from beach volleyball, together with ball-touch rules taken from beach soccer. Beach soccer meets beach volleyball.
