The 15th annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival comes our way on 28 and 29 March 2014. The event has become one of the prime attractions on the city’s music calendar, attracting top local and international performers and thousands of festival-goers each year.

The festival will take place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). It’s going to be massive!
The popular 94.5 KFM K-Day music festival is back in 2014. The event will take place at the Sandringham Farm in Stellenbosch on Saturday 29 March 2014. Together with MTN, the Cape based radio station will be putting together an exciting day with performances from some of SA’s best bands and artists.

Ticket prices range from R80 (for children aged 3 to 12 years) to R180 each. There’s no charge for children under 3 years old. Tickets are on sale at Computicket.
Gates open at 09h00 on the day and the music is on from 10h00 to 20h30.
You’re allowed to bring food and non-alcoholic refreshments with you on the day. Alcohol will be on sale at the venue, as well as food and other beverages. Umbrellas are allowed but only in designated areas where the view of the stage is not obstructed.
You’ll find Sandringham Farm on Sandringham Road, off the R304 in the Stellenbosch Area.
The legendary Bruce Springsteen will be touring South Africa in 2014. The Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame superstar will treat Cape Town fans to two shows at the Bellville Velodrome on Tuesday 28 January 2014 and Wednesday 29 January 2014, while Johannesburg fans can look forward to seeing ‘The Boss’ at FNB Stadium on 1 February 2014.
With over 120 million albums sold and a string of accolades which include 20 Grammy Awards, 2 Golden Globes and an Academy Award, Bruce is a true icon in the world of music. He is also well known for putting on amazing live performances with his band and SA fans will get to hear all the classics in a two and half hour show.
Look out for tickets at Computicket from 30 October 2013 (JHB show – R360 – R1020) and 1 November 2013 (Cape Town shows – R550 – R990).
This one is for the blues music fans. SA’s best blues rock artists will be hitting the stage at the Table Mountain Blues Summit on 22 and 23 November 2013. The two day event will take place at Hillcrest Quarry in Durbanville and the line-up features a steady mix of blues rock and more traditional blues.
The event is in its ninth year and once again, Paul Bothner Music and Combustion Technology are on board. As well as the awesome music, there’ll be fantastic give-aways and a limited number of camping tickets.

The Hope@PaulCluver Summer Festival kicks off on 2 November 2013 with a performance by American singer/songwriter Suzanne Vega, best known for her hits ‘Luka’ and ‘Tom’s Diner’. The 2013/2014 season will see an eclectic line-up of talent, including the likes of MacStanley, The Parlotones, Laurika Rauch and many more.

Gates open at 16h00 and the music will go ahead even if it rains. On New Year’s Eve, gates open at 19h00. Get there early to secure you picnic spot. Enjoy!
The annual Nederburg Picnic Concert comes our way on Saturday 23 November 2013. This year’s event will feature the talented instrumental pop group Sterling EQ, as well as The South African Sopranos. As always, you can look forward to delicious picnics, fine wine and superb music on the beautiful lawns outside the historic Nederburg Manor House.
The winery’s signature restaurant, The Red Table, will be offering picnic baskets brimming with freshly-prepared dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, which you can pre-order for R180 per person. Picnic baskets for children under 12 years old will be available for R75 per head.
You can bring your own picnic basket to the event but no alcoholic beverages can be brought onto the premises. Nederburg wines, soft drinks, mineral waters, tea and coffee will be on sale and guests are encouraged to bring their own cutlery, crockery, glassware, chairs, tables, blankets and cushions.
The picnic concert starts at 17h00 and gates open at 15h00, so get there a little earlier to secure your picnic spot on the lawns. Tickets for the concert cost R100 each, with no charge for children under 12 years old.
The Nederburg Visitors’ Centre will be open for wine tasting and sales from 10h00 to 17h00. There’s a special during November that includes a free bottle of Nederburg Premiére Cuvèe Brut when purchasing 11 bottles. Tastings do not have to be pre-arranged. A cellar and museum tour will start at 11h00 for which reservations are advised.

The legendary Bryan Adams will be back in South Africa in January 2014. The Canadian singer/songwriter will treat Cape Town fans to a show at the GrandWest Arena on Tuesday 28 January 2014. He’ll also be performing in Johannesburg on 25 and 26 January, Port Elizabeth on 29 January and Durban on 31 January 2014.
The concerts will be part of his Bare Bones World Tour which sees Bryan performing all his classic hits in an unplugged atmosphere. Look forward to hearing ‘Summer of 69′, ‘Heaven’, ‘Run To You’, ‘Everything I Do (I Do It For You)’, ’18 Til I Die’ and many more.

Top international band Bastille will be rocking the Mother City on Wednesday 8 January and Friday 10 January 2014. The UK based band will be performing at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden and it promises to be a fantastic show.
The band consists of Dan Smith, Chris ‘Woody’ Wood, Will Farquarson and Kyle Simmons. They have enjoyed massive success with the singles ‘Pompei’, ‘Bad Blood’, ‘The Things We Lost In The Fire’ and ‘Flaws’, topping local and international charts.

Canadian rockers Nickelback will be hitting the Mother City on 11 and 12 December 2013. The band will perform at the GrandWest Arena on the two nights, while Johannesburg fans can see the guys live in concert at the Coca Cola Dome on 6 and 8 December 2013.
The band which comprises of Chad Kroeger (guitar and vocals), Ryan Peake (guitar, keyboard and backing vocals), Mike Kroeger (bass) and Daniel Adair (drums), has made a name for themselves over the last decade with massive hits like ‘How You Remind Me’, ‘Someday’, ‘Photograph’, ‘Far Away’ and ‘Rockstar’. With worldwide sales of over 50 million, Nickelback is one of the biggest selling acts of the new millennium.
