The popular Cape Town Marathon is headed our way on Sunday 23 September 2012. The event consists of a full 42.2km marathon and 10km run, as well as a 5km fun run and 5 x 4.2km relay for clubs, companies and schools on Saturday 22 September 2012.
The Cape Town Marathon is one of the Mother City’s most scenic races, with the route taking runners through Sea Point, Green Point, the V&A Waterfront and other well known suburbs. The race starts at 06h30 in Adderley Street and finishes at the Green Point Urban Park.
The 10km race is a great opportunity for anyone who’s looking to take part in the festivities, without taking on the full marathon. There are many useful 10km training programmes available on the net, such as this one from Runners World – http://www.runnersworld.co.za/training/training-programmes/10km/10km-running-6-weeks-to-your-best-10km/.
Registration and number collection takes place at the Sea Point Civic Centre on Friday 21 September 2012 from 10h00 to 19h00 and on Saturday 22 September 2012 from 10h00 to 17h00. Pre-entries close on 10 September 2012.
