Cape Town International Boat Show: 24 – 27 September 2009

Owning a luxury yacht is something many of us would to love to do. You may be lucky enough to own one already. Maybe you’re looking to buy one in the near future. Perhaps you can only afford to admire them for now. Whichever category you fall into, the Cape Town International Boat Show is an event you’ll enjoy attending. It runs from 24 – 27 September 2009 and takes place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre and the V&A Waterfront.

Expect to see more of these at the Cape Town International Boat Show

Expect to see more of these at the Cape Town International Boat Show.

It’s not all about luxury yachts though. You’ll find plenty on offer from entry-level rubber dinghies to sporting power boats to luxury catamarans worth millions of rands. Exhibitors will be making use of 11,000m2 of indoor space at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. There will also be another 30 boats on the water outside the Cape Grace Hotel at the V&A Waterfront. Visitors to the event can travel between the 2 venues using the water ferry or continuous shuttle bus service. I think I’ll try the water ferry service for a fun new way of getting to the V&A Waterfront.

The event starts at 10h00 every day and ends at 18h00 except for Sunday when it ends at 16h00. Tickets for adults are R50 each and kids and scholars can get in for free if accompanied by an adult. You can purchase tickets at the Cape Town International Convention Centre or at the Bascule Bar entrance at the Cape Grace Hotel at the V&A Waterfront. For more information visit www.boatshow.co.za.

If you’re visiting from out of town check out these V&A Waterfront hotels and apartments or have a look at these Cape Town hotels and other accommodation options.
