I’m really enjoying the Brain of CapeTalk competition which is currently doing the rounds on 567 CapeTalk. The competition sees contestants up against each other in a one minute general knowledge quiz on air, with prize money and a spot in the latter rounds of the competition up for grabs.
It all started last week on 6 February 2012 and the finals will be held on 3 March 2012. If you listen to 567 CapeTalk during the week, you’ll hear quiz rounds taking place throughout the day, starting on Kieno’s show in the morning and finishing on John’s show in the evening. The contestant who finishes as the winner at the end of the day goes through to the play-off stages of the competition, which take place on Saturday mornings at various shopping centres in Cape Town.
If you’d like to enter the Brain of CapeTalk competition, then you first need to qualify by answering a set of preliminary questions. You can do this in two ways:
- Enter online at http://www.brain.capetalk.co.za/Home/Index
- OR Enter telephonically on 086 1111 567
- If you answer 60% or more of the questions correctly, then you may be called at a later stage to answer questions on air against someone else.
The play-off rounds are being held at the following venues on Saturday mornings:
- 11 February 2012 – Somerset Mall (09h00 – 12h00)
- 18 February 2012 – Canal Walk (09h00 – 12h00)
- 25 February 2012 – Vangate Mall (09h00 – 12h00)
- 3 March 2012 (FINALS) – Bayside Mall (09h00 – 12h00)
Feel free to pop down to the shopping centres on the Saturday mornings to show your support. The Brain of CapeTalk competition is brought to you by Dis-Chem. It’s time to brush up on that general knowledge and see how far you can go. Good luck!
