Canadian rock band, Billy Talent, is on the way to South Africa in August 2010. Hilltop Live have announced that the band will perform in Cape Town, Northam and Durban. Billy Talent will be rocking out at the 3 Arts Theatre in Plumstead on Saturday 7 August 2010.
The band recently picked up the Juno Award for ‘Best Rock Album of the Year’, for their latest album, Billy Talent III. The four members of Billy Talent, vocalist Ben Kowalewicz, guitarist Ian D’Sa, bassist Jon Gallant and drummer Aaron Solowoniuk, have been playing together for around 15 years. I enjoy some of their music, with ‘Fallen Leaves’, ‘Surrender’ and ‘Pins and Needles’ being stand-out tracks. The band has a different sound with catchy melodies and big guitar riffs. I think they’re one of the more original rock bands out there at the moment.
Tickets for the show are R150 each if you buy them from TicketBreak. Alternatively, you can buy them at the door at the concert for R200 each. The 3 Arts Theatre is located at 260 Main Road, Plumstead.
On another note, the band’s guitarist Ian, is involved with Song For Africa, which is a non-profit organization that aims to inspire change and raise awareness about humanitarian issues in Africa. A Song For Africa album is going to be released on 22 June 2010 through the iTunes store.

I am a HUGE Billy Talent fan:D and just wanted to know if there is a specific age restriction for the concert in Cape Town on the 7 August 2010?
Hi there, yeah, they’re a great band! I think no-under 16′s are allowed for the concert. You can double check at ticketbreak.co.za.
