The Mother City will be getting its own version of Germany’s Oktoberfest later this month. The Cape Town leg of the annual South African Bierfest takes place at the Newlands Brewery Village Green from 13 – 16 September 2012.
The event is an authentic experience for beer lovers, with fine German fare, décor, costumes, music, entertainment and of course, the delicious golden brew served by the gorgeous Fräuleins. In addition, South African Breweries has created three limited edition Bavarian-style beverages for the event, to compliment the huge selection of other beers, ciders, wine and soft drinks on offer.
Tickets for Bierfest 2012 cost R85 each and ‘crowns’ are used at the event to make purchases. For tickets and more information, visit www.bierfest.co.za.
If you are attending, please be sure to drink responsibly and make sure that you have safe transport home. The nearby Southern Sun Newlands Hotel is offering unbeatable packages for festival-goers, including entry to Bierfest and bed and breakfast and is a good option to consider. The Bierfest is not open to anyone under the age of 18 years old.
