The highest definition picture that’s ever been taken of Cape Town

I spotted this earlier today on Seth Rotherham’s 2OceansVibe blog. Tinus Le Roux and the team at Virtual Africa have produced the highest definition picture ever taken of Cape Town. Click on the image below to see the pic in all it’s glory.
Here are some of the details to give you an idea of what we’re looking at:
- It is made up of 1850, fully zoomed (x20 optical zoom), 10 MegaPixel images, all stitched together.
- It took about three hours to shoot all the images.
- It is 205,000 pixels wide, which works out to a printout of around 90m x 15m.
Have a look at it and pan around and zoom in and out as you like. Well done to the guys for creating this awesome ‘Hyper Definition Virtual Tour’.

Really fantastic picture.
Living in snowy Canada now, this was great to look at first thing this morning.
