Table Mountain Cableway Sunset Special: 1 November 2009 – 28 February 2010

I thought I’d quickly feature this great Cableway special that’s running from 1 November 2009 – 28 February 2010. Visitors to the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway have four months to enjoy Cape Town sunsets for half price every day from 18h00. Enjoy the most spectacular views of the city as you travel up and down from Table Mountain.

Adults pay R80 and children under 18 years pay R40 per person for a return ticket from 18h00. The special also applies on New Year’s Eve when the last cable car goes up at 23h00 and the last cable car comes down at 01h00.

The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway has been around for 80 years. Every year approximately 800,000 visitors from all over the world use the cableway. It takes around five to ten minutes for the cable cars to reach the top of the mountain and they travel at a maximum speed of ten metres per second. More than 18 million passengers have taken the journey to the summit of Table Mountain since the Cableway started operating in 1929.
