As I write this, it’s 141 days to go to the 2010 Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon. The good news is that online entries are now open. The Two Oceans Marathon is regarded by many as being the world’s most beautiful marathon. Old Mutual is continuing it’s proud association with this famous event and it’s the premier race on the Cape Town running calendar. Puma is also one of the main sponsors along with Old Mutual.

The event is set to take place on Saturday 3 April 2010 on the Easter Weekend. Participants can choose from the 56km ultra marathon or the 21km half marathon. There’s also a 5km and 2.5km fun run if you’re looking for something less strenuous. The Two Oceans Marathon attracts around 26000 participants in the various distances and boasts some of the best scenery you can find in any race, anywhere in the world.
One of the main pre-race activities is the running expo which takes place at the Good Hope Centre from Wednesday 31 March 2010 to Friday 2 April 2010. It’s the largest of it’s kind in the Western Cape and offers the latest in running related products and information.
The 2010 Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon will remain on the route via Chapman’s Peak, Hout Bay and Constantia Nek. If there are any problems, the Ou Kaapse Weg route will be used.
