Just Jinjer, Flat Stanley and aKing live at the Grand Arena – 5 September 2009

Next month sees 3 of South Africa’s top bands performing at the Grand Arena at Grand West Casino. Just Jinjer, Flat Stanley and aKing will be rocking out on 25 September 2009 and this promises to be a great concert.

Fresh from signing a major label record deal with Curb/Warner Records in the USA, Just Jinjer have decided to return home to South Africa to prepare for their next album. They performed extensively during their stay in the USA and were well received with sold out shows and radio play on popular US radio stations. The good news for us is that we get to see one of South Africa’s favourite bands live in concert again.

Flat Stanley, also a firm South African favourite have been working hard since signing an international record deal with iMusic Records. The band’s focus has been on the international scene with their acclaimed second album Between 2wo Worlds being released in Europe. The move into the overseas market has forced the band to change their name due to legal concerns (Flat Stanley is also the name of a range of American children’s books). They will be known as Macstanley overseas but they’ll still use the name Flat Stanley locally. With these international developments taking place I’m glad to say the band is still performing in South Africa and I’m looking forward to seeing them at this concert.

Cape Town rockers aKing are touring in support of their recently released second album Against All Odds. You may have heard the new singles which are receiving regular airplay on radio stations such as 5fm (http://www NULL.5fm NULL.co NULL.za). They are well on their way to becoming one of South Africa’s top rock bands.
